The APEC HS-900 Hyper 5-Axis Horizontal Machining Center is a high-performance, precision-engineered solution designed to meet the demanding requirements of aerospace, mold & die, and complex component manufacturing. Built around a rigid and thermally stable structure, the machine offers generous travels of X: 1,050 mm, Y: 1,350 mm, and Z: 1,050 mm, enabling the machining of large, intricate parts with exceptional accuracy and consistency . At its core is a high-speed AGA built-in spindle featuring HSK100A taper, capable of reaching 15,000 rpm, delivering 45/54 kW (S1/S6) power and up to 143 Nm torque, making it highly suitable for high-efficiency aluminum machining as well as demanding cutting applications. The spindle incorporates an independent cooling system and thermal monitoring to ensure long-term reliability and consistent performance under continuous operation .
The HS-900 Hyper is equipped with a high-rigidity Ø800 mm rotary tilt table, supporting full 5-axis simultaneous machining with an A-axis range of -195° to +45° and continuous B-axis rotation (±360°). Utilizing direct-drive motors, the rotary axes deliver high torque (up to 6,920 Nm clamping torque on A-axis) and high rotational speed (up to 70 rpm), ensuring both dynamic performance and precise positioning . The machine structure is reinforced by roller-type linear guideways and high-precision ball screw drives, enabling rapid feedrates of up to 60 m/min while maintaining excellent rigidity, accuracy, and repeatability. Precision performance is further enhanced through optical linear and circular scales, delivering positioning accuracy as tight as 0.0075 mm and repeatability of 0.005 mm under controlled conditions, along with integrated thermal compensation systems .
For advanced machining control, the HS-900 Hyper integrates the Heidenhain TNC7 5-axis CNC system, offering high-speed processing, 5-axis interpolation, and advanced features such as Tool Center Point Management (TCPM), ensuring accurate tool positioning during complex multi-axis operations . Productivity is maximized through a high-capacity automatic tool changer (ATC) with a standard 60-tool magazine, expandable to 90 or 120 tools, supporting large tool sizes up to Ø250 mm (without adjacent tools) and weights up to 25 kg. Additional standard features such as spindle thermal compensation, chip management systems, air-through spindle, and full enclosure design ensure reliable, efficient, and clean machining environments. Optional systems including BLUM probing and laser tool measurement further enhance automation, accuracy, and process control for high-end manufacturing applications
