The APEC MTH-2462 is a high-performance 5-axis double column machining center engineered for precision machining of large and complex workpieces. Combining a rigid bridge-type construction with simultaneous 5-axis capability, the MTH Series is designed to deliver exceptional accuracy, stability, and productivity for demanding applications in the aerospace, energy, mold & die, and precision manufacturing industries.
Its heavy-duty double column structure features reinforced one-piece columns, a rigid cross beam, and an optimized base design that minimizes deformation while maintaining superior machining accuracy across the entire travel. A large-section ram and high-rigidity saddle further enhance cutting stability during heavy machining operations.
The MTH-2462 is equipped with a high-speed direct-drive AGA fork-type milling head offering simultaneous 5-axis interpolation. The B-axis swivels ±120° while the C-axis provides continuous 360° rotation, allowing complex multi-face and undercut machining in a single setup. High clamping torque on both rotary axes ensures excellent rigidity during aggressive cutting operations.
Powered by a high-performance built-in HSK100A spindle, the machine delivers high spindle speed, power, and torque for efficient roughing and finishing of challenging materials such as titanium alloys, nickel-based alloys, and hardened steels. Independent spindle cooling and thermal compensation maintain long-term accuracy and reliability during extended machining cycles.
Precision motion is achieved through high-rigidity roller linear guideways, precision ball screws, and optical linear scales, providing smooth axis movement, excellent positioning accuracy, and repeatability. A nitrogen-assisted counterbalance system further improves Z-axis dynamic performance while reducing mechanical load and extending component life.
The standard machine includes a 32-tool automatic tool changer with HSK100A tooling, through-spindle coolant, spindle chiller, chip management system, fully enclosed splash guarding, electrical cabinet air conditioning, and comprehensive thermal management systems to maximize machining efficiency and uptime.
