The ZOPO VMC-1580L Vertical Machining Center is a heavy-duty CNC machining solution engineered for high-precision cutting, large workpiece capacity, and demanding industrial applications. Designed for manufacturers in aerospace, automotive, mold & die, energy, and general precision machining industries, the VMC-1580L combines a rigid machine structure with advanced CNC control technology to deliver exceptional machining stability, accuracy, and productivity. The machine offers generous travels of 1,550 mm on the X-axis, 850 mm on the Y-axis, and 850 mm on the Z-axis, paired with a large 850 × 1,700 mm worktable capable of supporting up to 1,600 kg workpiece weight for machining oversized and complex components.
Built with a hybrid guideway design featuring high-rigidity roller linear guideways on the X and Y axes and a box guideway on the Z-axis, the VMC-1580L provides the perfect balance between high-speed movement and heavy cutting stability. The machine utilizes a CAT50 Big Plus gear-driven spindle with speeds up to 6,000 RPM and is powered by a FANUC αi spindle motor delivering 18.5/22 kW output and up to 223 Nm of maximum torque, making it ideal for aggressive material removal and heavy-duty machining operations.
For enhanced machining efficiency, the VMC-1580L is equipped with a 30-tool arm-type automatic tool changer with fast 4.5-second tool-to-tool change time, enabling reduced downtime during complex machining cycles. The machine also features high-speed rapid traverse rates of 24/24/15 m/min, precision-grade C3 ballscrews, and advanced FANUC 0i-MF Plus CNC control with AICC contour control technology and 200-block look-ahead processing for smoother interpolation and improved surface finish quality during high-speed machining.
The VMC-1580L is designed with operator convenience and long-term reliability in mind. Standard features include CTS 50 BAR through-spindle coolant capability, full machine enclosure, chain-type chip conveyor with multiple screw augers, oil skimmer, spindle oil chiller, automatic lubrication system, air and coolant guns, LED work lighting, and front-door safety interlock systems. The machine structure incorporates a wide-base casting design and counterweight-balanced Z-axis system to minimize load on the ballscrew and maintain machining accuracy over extended operation.
