The HURON MX Series is a powerful and highly versatile line of 5-axis machining centers designed for high-precision milling and integrated turning operations in a single setup. Offering full 5-axis and 5-sided machining capabilities, the MX Series is engineered to handle large, heavy parts up to 12,000 kg, delivering exceptional accuracy, rigidity, and productivity from roughing to finishing. Available in both Milling (M) and Mill/Turn (MT) configurations, this multifunction platform is ideal for machining hard materials in sectors such as aerospace, energy, transportation, die & mold, and high-precision mechanical engineering.

The MX Series features a rigid mobile column structure built from high-performance cast iron, designed to dampen vibration and optimize dynamic stability. Linear axes are driven by precision ball screws with thermal compensation, recirculating roller guideways, and automatic grease lubrication to minimize friction and maintenance. The tilting spindle head, mounted on a 45° plane, offers full orientation from vertical to horizontal and is powered by an integrated torque motor for smooth, backlash-free motion. The electrospindle delivers high torque for heavy material removal and includes vibration monitoring to protect the spindle, tool, and workpiece.

Machines in the MX 8, MX 10, and MX 12 range are equipped with high-speed, backlash-free rotary tables powered by torque motors, while the MX 16 and MX 20 models feature tables driven by wheel and double pinion systems for higher loads and increased part clearance—particularly suited for aerospace and energy applications. Additional features such as IP54-protected electrical cabinets, external tool magazines, chip evacuation systems, and ergonomic operator access ensure safety, reliability, and ease of use.
