Built for high performance in both roughing and finishing, the KX Large machines integrate a fixed gantry structure with mobile tables, slides, and saddles engineered from cast iron, welded steel, or concrete—depending on the model—to absorb vibrations and dynamic loads. Linear axes are supported by recirculating roller bearings with absolute measurement scales, while AC servo motors drive precision ball screws to achieve rapid feedrates of up to 40 m/min. The rotary B and C axes are driven by backlash-free torque motors with angular encoders for high-speed positioning, allowing complex 4- and 5-axis interpolation at full power. The integrated electrospindle ensures high torque, vibration monitoring, and long tool reach, even for deep pocket machining. Additionally, ergonomic features like wide table access, external tool magazines, chip conveyors, and a fully enclosed splash-proof environment enhance operator safety and usability.
