The HURON MX Series is a high-performance, multi-function machining center that combines 5-axis milling and turning capabilities in one compact yet powerful solution. Designed for flexibility, the MX Series enables full 5-sided machining and simultaneous 5-axis operations in a single setup, handling everything from roughing to finishing—even turning operations—without reclamping. It supports workpieces up to 12,000 kg and is ideal for high-precision machining in industries such as aerospace, automotive, energy, and mold & die. The structure features a mobile column design made of high-performance cast iron to maximize rigidity, harmonic stability, and vibration damping under demanding cutting conditions. The machine is anchored to the foundation with evenly distributed weight for optimal geometric stability and long-term accuracy.
The MX Series offers advanced motion control with high-precision ball screws, recirculating roller guideways, and absolute optical encoders conforming to VDI/DGQ 3441. Its 45° tilting head, equipped with an integrated torque motor, allows spindle orientation from vertical to horizontal through all intermediate angles—ideal for complex contours and hard material machining. The rotary table, available in milling (M) or mill-turn (MT) versions, uses direct torque motors or dual-pinion drives depending on size, delivering zero backlash and high clamping torque for aggressive cutting. The spindle features vibration monitoring, thermal stability, and high torque output for heavy metal removal. The ergonomic design includes chip evacuation systems, an IP54-rated electrical cabinet, an externally positioned tool magazine, and a fully enclosed work area for operator safety. With an interactive CNC system offering graphic simulation, large memory, and intuitive programming, the HURON MX Series ensures optimized performance, productivity, and part quality in high-demand applications.
