Description

The AWEA AU-680 5-Axis Machining Center is a high-speed, high-rigidity machining solution designed for manufacturers requiring exceptional precision, dynamic performance, and multi-face machining capability in a compact footprint. Engineered for aerospace, medical, mold & die, energy, and high-precision component manufacturing, the AU-680 combines simultaneous 5-axis machining with powerful cutting performance to efficiently process complex workpieces in a single setup. Built with a rigid Meehanite cast iron structure and reinforced rib design, the machine delivers excellent vibration dampening, thermal stability, and long-term machining accuracy even during heavy-duty cutting applications.

The AU-680 features a high-performance A/C-axis trunnion table with ±120° swivel and full 360° rotary motion, allowing complete access to complex geometries and difficult-to-machine surfaces. With a table diameter of Ø680 mm and load capacity up to 1,000 kg on the dual-drive trunnion configuration, the machine is capable of handling large and heavy workpieces with outstanding positioning accuracy and repeatability. High-resolution absolute encoders, backlash-free mechanical preload design, and powerful servo-driven rotary axes ensure smooth simultaneous 5-axis movement and precise contouring performance.

Equipped with a built-in high-speed spindle rated at 16,000 RPM standard and optional 18,000 RPM, the AU-680 delivers up to 191 Nm of torque for both fine finishing and aggressive heavy cutting operations. The spindle design incorporates advanced cooling jackets, high-rigidity bearings, and thermal compensation systems to maintain exceptional stability and machining precision during extended production cycles. Combined with rapid traverse rates of 40 m/min, roller-type linear guideways, oversized servo motors, and high-speed ball screw drives, the AU-680 provides fast acceleration, superior surface finishes, and outstanding dynamic machining performance.
